what is it about cuss words that makes them so different than other words? i used to cuss a lot. ehehe... >_<. but like... sometimes, they just "sound" better? idk. but it gives you this... feeling? i guess when you say them. but i mean, they're just words, aren't they? so why does it "feel" different when you say a curse word rather than when you say some other retarded word like 'freak' or 'crap'. idk. >_<.

:D ionno... does that make 'freak' 'crap' or 'retarded'or 'pissed' OK words to say?
Are words just words? Or do they express the things in your heart? What really scares me when I cuss in my head is not that I said the word, but the fact that there are thoughts in my head that are linked to those words...
if we just choose to use minor words INSTEAD of cuss words, isn't the thought that is in your mind still the same? wouldn't that be like cutting the top of a plant, while the roots are still embedded in your hearT?
gah this has got me thinking
hey RC Sproul is doing a series on abortion if you're interested...

Curse word is a word that's spoken with malice and hatred. Freak and crap can be curse words if its intended to be negative and harm.
Food for thought.
that doesn't really make sense... so if I say stronger cuss words except i don't really mean it to hurt anyone, then it won't mean anything?
The difference is cursing others vs cursing yourself. When you say words like freak and crap aren't you in fact cursing the moment that you're in? What does that say about your heart?
can you really defend your right to say words like that before God?
James 3 made me come back to this post... All the animals have been tamed, but no one can tame the tongue.
